Stampin' Again

Been a long summer so far and with school, I am behind on my stampin. I have all my new supplies and hate using anything but here is my attempt. This is from Stampin'ups new  "homegrown" (120486). It makes me remember when I was young pulling up radishes and picking tomatoes  in my Dad's garden. I know the card is a bit GREEN but that is my idea of summer, since we have had so little rain until this week. More homegrown to come.

Tiles

Well I am sure Tami thinks I am a stalker....... Here is the tile I made for my sister.
Stamped on a tumbled tile, 4x4, with Staz on ink. used a blender pen and my pastels, and a can of clear paint. I hope you like it Martha.....Goes in the mail tomorrow

The magic sock monkey.

I also saw this on Stampin with Tami. it is a great project and has lots of WOW factor ( well Phil thought so)

My penny spinner card

Well yesterday I was watching videos on "stampin with Tami.com and saw this card. Well this is my version because the humming bird is too small for the penny so I made a dime/penny one.
I used the new stamp set from the Summer mini( don't remember the name)

Methods

The first is called "spot lighting". you stamp your image 2 times. I did mine on whisper white and then on old olive.
Then I used Stampin' up's 1/2 inch circle punch (104390) to punch out my image from the old olive. I used my Stampin' Up glue pen (100425) and glued the circles in the whisper white image.
It takes a bit of lining up but it turned out great. (another idea from Dawn G).
the other is a gift card sleeve. Dawn used a different punch. I didn't have the same punch so I used my scalloped punch (109043). I also used my tiny tag punch to make the "friends tag (?#)

Mojo Monday second week

I tried mojo monday last week and this is what I came up with. I hope you like it.

Phil's Birthday

Today (June 4th) is Phil's Birthday Here is the card I made for him.
It is Stampin' Up's "Bugs and Kisses" (116580). I think it turned out good!!!!

Cheers to you

Well it has been a busy few weeks and I am behind on my blog. I have a few projects to put up.
This is Stampin' up's "cheers to you" (114944).This is a great stamp set for all of you that like cool summer drinks.(with or without the alcohol) I got the general idea from Dawn G's site (see links)
It is a "3 way" card.. It is kind of like that toy some of us "old" people had when we were younger and batteries had not been invented yet (LOL) You turned it one way and it would flip(water fall )down. So you open the card one way and you get pictures, open it another way and you get different pics and close it and open the middle and there are different pics in the middle. Hard to explain but it is a cool card and easy to make.
I think Dawn calls it a" secret card".

Mojo Monday My first

My sister Martha Stewart( NOT that Martha) told me I should do the Mojo Monday card.
Being this is my first, I spent 2 hours getting it right just to pull the flowers off and start again.
Well here is what I did. I know it is plain but for my first attempt....not too bad. Do you know how hard it is to cut 1/8 inch strips to make thread when you don't own any??? And do you like the button....I made that too......

quilter's Bargello

I got my first Stampin' Success yesterday.... I found the Bargello Page and being a quilter I took up the challenge. I know the one in Stampin' Success is a smaller scale but a quilter needs more color. Hope you like it.

Stamping with a 2 yr old?!!!

Now I know that it is hard to think about, but YES I stamped with my 2 yr old grandson. He saw I was cutting paper so he gets on my lap to help.
We cut lots of paper and I had some of the flowers cut out but then we started. Let me tell you 2 yr old's LOVE the Stampin' Up Snail. There is something fun about gluing stuff down. He picked up the pieces I put the glue on the back and he stuck it down. Cooper also loved the Stampin' Up Dimensionals. We did not understand that once you put the dimensionals on....you can't take them off. . Cooper wanted to put the Stampin Up Embooss powder on everything. We mixed up the gold, silver and the indescent ice. Only mixed up a little. Cooper didn't like the heat gun but he did like the magic. The second card he took the frames from the cut outs and we used a sponge and used them as stencils.
On the one card he stamped with the Versa Mark with the stamp set "Sending Happy Thoughts"

Next week Father's Day Cards with Cooper.... My first Stampin' Up Workshop went well....But he didn't have money with him at the time. But he made a "Make and Take" He just took it before Grand Ma could take a photo of it.

May Card Day

Today is make a May Card Day for me. I used the Stampin' Up Bloom stamp. This stamp you can do so much with. My bee I stamped on card then stamped it again on some whisper white scrap , colored the bee, embossed his wings and cut him out. Then I mounted slightly off the lower stamp. Now it looks like a shadow....COOL! Also on the coloring I randomly painter the blooms with lilac and barely blue. I like the look. As for the other 3 cards I used the same stamp but put it on 3x6 card stock and added the edging with my lace edge punch. I found this on Stampin' Ups Stampin' Connection and the cards were done by Dawn G. It was a great video. Tomorrow is Father's Day cards

Chest

This chest pattern I got from inkingidaho.com
I was not sure I could do it but it turned out to be easy. I used a "no name paper" (because I do not have many sheets of 12x12.)  I made 2 of these in one day. I gave one to my daughter-in-law Brenda for my grandson's room......I think it probably never got there. I really liked making these, but next time I make it, I am going to do it in white......now if my order will come......

Exploding Boxes

This pattern my sister sent me. I think she got it from a friend of hers. This project was fun and easy. As you will see I used some Stampin up paper for the box on the right and a "no name paper" for the other. Also I used someother "no name paper to make the baby one that is open. These boxes are ment for putting pictures in so you can have a "photo/ scrapbook on your desk to share with friends. The day I made these boxes, I made 10. That is how easy they are.

Card Day

This was Card Day ......... I used " Love bug" for the card on the left. What a cute stamp. I wanted it to look like the mommy bug was pushing the baby. The other card was done with the "Voila" stamp. I just love this guy and you can do so much with him. I like the brads too.

Envelope Day part 2

This was also done on envelope day. These I did with "Patterned Pines" and embossing powder. I sealed the envelopes and cut them in half. I also put the bottom half through the crimper after I stamped on the trees. These can be used for money envelopes. I found this on the "stampin' up "WOW " DVD that I got when I became a Stampin' Up demonstrator. It has lots of great tips on it.

Envelope Day

This was the day I made envelopes all day.
I used " Sending Happy Thoughts" and " A Little Bit of Happiness" to make the envelope with the flowers and " Sending Happy Thoughts" and Petal Pizzazz" for the leaves. I really enjoyed coloring them

I have been busy working with the Stampin' Up "My Digital Studio" software. It is so much fun. I made a scrapbook that I sent as a movie to some family members. It wasn't that good because I only had a few pictures of Cooper to play with. It is a start and with more pictures and time to make more pages, I will be able to print a whole book through Stampin' Up's printing service. I am working on my certification for "My Digital Studio" so here is my first digital card.

What to do next

While I wait for my kit and order to come in I needed to find something to do. Went on stampin' connections, a website for stampin' up demonstrators.
This is the project I cased from Karen Philip's video site A card wallet. What a great project. She said to put business cards in it but you can also put a gift card in it to.

As for my basket, I used the Stampin' up big shot die 115965 Fancy Favor.
My sister said to save the piece that is at the edge of the "throw a way paper"
and make the handle. WHO KNEW???
The other pictures are of us on Derby Day. My mother wanted us to wear hats for the day. These were hats from my Aunt Polly's and my mother in laws closet. They came to me after they passed away.Sorry we look funny.....we may have had one...or two

Day 3 part 2

After finishing my box and cards I was looking for new projects. On Martha Stewart's (not " THE " Martha Stewart" )site I found VersaMark Technique Off I went with my version of it.

Day 3.....Maybe day 2

My sister assigned me the job of making a 3-D object, a card and a mini card.
After many hours of cutting, folding and refolding, I came up with these items

Wednesday, April 28, 2010

Today is my first full day as a Stampin' Up member. As my sister says WHOOHOO!!
Because I will not get my supplies for a few weeks I decided to practice. Well I do have some Stampin' Up stuff but I didn't want to waste it. So I got out my Stampin' Up Big Shot and my Stampin' Up BigZ scallop die cut and using a no name paper I made some envelopes. Most people would say make one or two and try something else but not me. After making 30 envelopes out of paper, fabric , tin ,copper. Who needs 30 envelopes? The gift size? And where are the gift cards to go in them? Didn't think about that. Wonder what size you need? Well guess I will need to make more.
I did find out when making them TIP : don't use more then 1-2 pieces of paper. If you use more they have a tendency to cut the folds some. You can still use them but they are not as nice.
I did glue some of the envelopes on the sides but with tin or copper glue doesn't work well.( I speak from experience)TIP: Use some Stampin Up sticky strips. And for the fabric, I need to back it with something so it is neat and folds well. Plan to try backing the fabric before I cut. Off to make more.
TIP: The tin and copper are roof flashing. You get it at any hardware store near the roofing shingles.
Tin is cheap but the copper runs about $36.00 for 15 feet. can get expensive.
